College Football
I decided to expand my “sports” posting beyond just baseball for once. Each saturday I am greeted with what my mom calls a “sports fan dream”. College football from about 10 in the morning till about 8 or 9 at night. I really enjoy watching all the different games ranging from watching Washington and Washington State battle for the award of most pathetic to what I really enjoy watching this year, good college quarterbacks.
For the most part in years past quarterbacks have had to play two different roles in their careers. It always seemed like in college the only way for a QB to excel was to be completely two dimensional (a passing treat and a running threat) Jake Locker and Tim Tebow to name a couple. But when they get to the NFL you can’t succeed that way. You have to be a pocket passer first, and in extreme cases of possible face-meets-dirt you may be able to run away.
But this year I am seeing quite a few legit drop back and let it fly passers. Most coming from the Big 12. With QBs like Chase Daniel, Sam Bradford, Graham Harrell, and Matthew Stafford it looks like the type of play needed to succeed in the NFL is breaking through into the collegiate level. Colt Brennan for Hawaii was the golden boy of let it fly when he was in college the last few years. He set an NCAA record for most career touchdowns when playing for the Warriors.
I will say that when you have a quarterback who can dominate both the air and the ground it is mighty fun to watch. I just don’t care much for Tebow or Colt McCoy much myself. My favorite current two dimensional QB is Pat White for West Virginia. However bad he and his team may be doing, he is very fun to watch when on his A game.
All this coming from the guy who whenever he plays any football video game, focuses on the run game more than the passing game.
Who are your Fav 5 QBs in college this season?

Ricks,
I am going on a trip to Uganda on Dec. 19th and I was hoping that you could ask your mom if she had some toothbrushes and/or other products she could get for us to bring with us? Didn’t know what you would think of that question and I don’t have your phone number or your email.
