Further Research on Legit
For those of you who want to join my campaign of making Legit the word of 2009 and want more clarification on what it means, how to use it and when to use it, etc. Urban Dictionary had this as a definition:
(adj.) A modern synonym for words such as “cool,” “ill,” “tight,” or “dope.” Used to describe a noun that is of a particularly excellent quality. The slang use of this term is slowly but steadily increasing in popularity.
Now if that last little bit isn’t a beckoning call to bring it mainstream, then I can personally come to you and give you a flick to the forehead so you will understand better haha.
As far as usage is concerned, use Legit as much as possible. If at anytime you have an opportunity to say anything like “that’s cool” or “that’s the best” or “sweet” or pretty much any phrase that can be taken in a positive context can be changed to “that’s Legit” or “I’m Legit”.
However, using Legit is only acceptable if said properly. Although many are brainwashed to believe Legit and legitimate are the same thing, they are wrong. Legit is more Legit that legitimate. Saying legitimate instead of Legit is not Legit. Also, non of you are MC Hammer so saying “too Legit to quit” is also unLegit.
I hope this has made your understanding of Legit more Legit. If you have questions or concerns whether you usage is Legit or not, leave a comment with your usage and I will give you the ruling.
Also, when used correctly and in order for it to be correctly used, it needs to be a capital L. Legit is Legit. legit is NOT Legit!
Be Legit!
